Satv Dairy's Full Moon Golden Ghee is a limited-edition Bilona Ghee prepared only during Purnima (Full Moon), making it one of the rarest products we create. Only 12 batches are prepared each year.
Inspired by traditional Ayurvedic wisdom and ancient Sanatan practices, this ghee is crafted during the Full Moon cycle a time that has long been regarded as especially significant for nourishment, balance, and mindful living.
As part of this tradition, fresh milk is placed under the light of the Full Moon during the Purnima night before the ghee-making process begins. For generations, many Indian households have followed similar practices as part of traditional food preparation rituals. At Satv Dairy, we continue this heritage with the same spirit of care, patience, and reverence for nature.
The process begins with milk from our grain-fed indigenous cows, raised on a carefully prepared farm diet that includes chana, binola, bajra, wheat daliya, gur, natural oils, and mineral-rich nutrition. We never use commercial ready-made cattle feed.
Fresh milk is cultured into curd, hand-churned using the traditional Bilona method to produce white makhan, and then slowly transformed into golden ghee in small batches.
In Ayurveda, traditionally prepared Bilona Ghee has long been valued as a nourishing food and is often included in dietary practices focused on supporting digestion, vitality, and overall well-being. It is also traditionally associated with maintaining balance between Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
More than just a cooking ingredient, Full Moon Golden Ghee represents a tradition of patience, purity, and conscious preparation—bringing together farm craftsmanship, Ayurvedic heritage, and the timeless wisdom of India's dairy traditions.
