DESCRIPTION DESCRIPTION

Ragi, Jowar, and Amaranth didn't suddenly become nutritious because wellness brands started marketing them. They've been feeding Indian families for centuries long before maida became the default ingredient in everything packaged.

Satv Dairy's Millet & Amaranth Cookies are built on these three grains. Ragi flour, Jowar flour, Amaranth (Rajgira) flour, pure butter, natural jaggery, almonds, tapioca, coconut, rice, chickpea, milk, and green cardamom every ingredient is something you'd recognise in a kitchen, not on a chemistry lab shelf. No maida, no refined sugar, no refined oils, no preservatives.

The texture is where most people are surprised first. Because it's built on whole grain flours with real almonds and coconut, every bite has actual substance a proper crunch that lingers, not the hollow snap of a refined flour biscuit. The cardamom and coconut add aroma. The jaggery sweetens without overwhelming.

Small batch baked. Packed fresh. Multi-millet ancient grain cookies that taste like something real because they are. Shelf life 8 months.

BENEFITS BENEFITS

1. Three grains, not one with a label:

  • Ragi, Jowar, and Amaranth are all primary flours here not just listed for marketing. Three different nutrient profiles in one cookie, not maida with a grain sprinkle on top.

2. Almonds + coconut — real texture additions:

  • Not flavouring agents, actual pieces. The almonds add crunch and healthy fats. The coconut adds chew and subtle sweetness. These aren't just for the ingredient list you'll taste and feel them.

3. Cardamom — the detail that makes it premium:

  • Green cardamom is what takes these from "healthy but boring" to genuinely aromatic. It's a small ingredient that changes the whole character of the cookie.

4. Jaggery — not the sugar swap you expect:

  • Natural jaggery doesn't just replace refined sugar, it adds a warm, earthy sweetness that actually complements ancient grains better. Commercial sugar would make these taste generic. Jaggery makes them taste considered.

5. No refined oil — pure butter only:

  • No palm oil, no hydrogenated fat, no vegetable shortening. Pure butter for richness and flavour, the kind of choice that shows up in how these taste and smell, not just on the label.

6. 8-month shelf life — without preservatives:

  • Ancient grains have natural stability. Proper airtight packaging does the rest. No preservatives in multi-grain millet cookies — 8 months shelf life is achievable with honest ingredients and proper sealing.

FAQS FAQS

1. What are Ragi, Jowar, and Amaranth — and why use all three?

All three are ancient Indian grains that predate refined flour by centuries. Ragi is exceptionally rich in calcium. Jowar is high in fibre and protein. Amaranth (Rajgira) is one of the few plant foods with complete protein all nine essential amino acids. Using all three gives a broader nutritional profile than any single grain could. Most "multi-grain" products list several grains but rely on one; these cookies use all three as meaningful flours.

2. Are these cookies gluten-free?

  • Ragi, Jowar, and Amaranth are all naturally gluten-free grains. However, the recipe also includes chickpea and rice flour, and is produced in a facility that handles various ingredients. If you have celiac disease or severe gluten sensitivity, check with your doctor before consuming.

3. Why are ancient grains making a comeback?

  • Because people started reading labels on commercial biscuits. When maida and refined sugar are the first two ingredients, it's hard to justify eating it daily. Ancient grains like Ragi, Jowar, and Amaranth offer more fibre, more diverse nutrients, and a lower glycemic impact compared to refined flour and they've been in Indian diets for thousands of years without needing a trend to justify them.

4. Do these contain refined sugar or maida?

  • No to both. Sweetened with natural jaggery only. Made with Ragi, Jowar, Amaranth, tapioca, rice, and chickpea flours no refined flour anywhere.

5. What does Amaranth (Rajgira) taste like in a cookie?

  • Subtle and slightly nutty it doesn't overpower. Most people can't identify Amaranth specifically in the flavour, but it contributes to the overall earthiness and richness of the texture. It also absorbs other flavours well, which is why cardamom and coconut come through clearly.

6. Are these suitable for children?

  • Yes, no refined sugar, no maida, no preservatives, and the grain-and-almond combination makes them genuinely nutritious for growing kids. The cardamom and coconut make them taste good enough that kids usually don't need to be convinced.

7. Do they contain refined oil or palm fat?

  • No. Made with pure butter no palm oil, no hydrogenated vegetable fat, no shortening. Butter is why the richness and aroma are noticeably different from standard packaged cookies.

8. Shelf life and storage?

  • 8 months from production, stored in a cool dry place. Keep the pack sealed after opening moisture is the only thing that softens the crunch before its time.
THREE GRAINS AND WHY THEY MATTER THREE GRAINS AND WHY THEY MATTER

Most multi-grain products list several grains but use one primary and the others as trace quantities. These cookies use Ragi, Jowar, and Amaranth as meaningful flours — here's what each one brings.

1. Ragi-Finger Millet:

One of the richest plant sources of calcium. Traditionally given to children for bone development and to adults for sustained energy.

2. Jowar-Sorghum:

  • High in fibre, naturally gluten-friendly, and a good source of plant protein. A staple crop in Indian agriculture for thousands of years.

3. Amaranth-Rajgira:

  • Contains all nine essential amino acids one of the few plant foods considered a complete protein. Also rich in iron and magnesium.
